EPLAN Collaboration Apps: comprehensive access, easy collaboration

EPLAN means next-level solutions for electrical engineering. But this isn’t just about developing highly specialised products, it’s much more about designing and creating efficient processes. This is also the goal for our Collaboration Apps, which enable location-independent collaboration and direct access to EPLAN Projects and relevant data. Depending on the expansion level chosen, the Collaboration Apps are automatically included in the scope of services for EPLAN Electric P8, EPLAN Pro Panel and EPLAN Preplanning.

Data from EPLAN Projects can be quickly and securely shared by using the Data management (previously EPLAN eMANAGE) – with employees of your company, project partners, suppliers and clients. The Parts management (previously EPLAN eSTOCK) allows access to a company’s own device databases, meaning that device data can be processed and managed across all users. The idea behind the Project viewer (formerly EPLAN eVIEW) is to implement digital review processes in engineering. Even the documentation for maintenance and servicing is paperless and therefore always up to date.

There’s no need to set up and maintain your own IT infrastructure for data stored in the cloud. Information is updated in real time and can be accessed from any location. Data security is guaranteed by way of clearly defined access rights.

We provide users of the EPLAN Cloud with a free version of the Data management, allowing you to easily and securely share EPLAN Projects through this application. Additional functionality is available with the full version – for example, projects (ZW1) can also be provided in the project data backup format of earlier platform versions (“Save as function”).

There is also an augmented reality (AR) feature in the Project viewer. If this is used, scanning a QR code on a control cabinet projects the digital twin of the cabinet in AR. This image of the control cabinet in the actual environment allows users to more easily orient themselves and find component being searched for even faster.

Notes on availability

In the EPLAN Cloud, the Data management is only visible by default to the administrators of the respective cloud organisation. In order to see and use this application, users must be assigned roles in the organisation. Connection to the device data in the Project viewer is available to users with a subscription licence to the EPLAN Platform 2023 (and higher versions) free of additional charges. The application can be used in the EPLAN Platform 2023 software environment or via a web browser after logging in. The login requires an EPLAN ID connected to your company organisation.
